It was a busy year filled with many individual accomplishments and team successes as the Fullerton College Athletics Department welcomed student-athletes, parents, faculty, and administration into the Hornets Nest on Thursday afternoon for the 24th Academic Athletic Awards honoring excellence in academics and athletic achievement.
Four Hornets were named to the Orange Empire Conference team last week, as voted on by the coaches.
The Hornets pulled off a 3-0 sweep at Santiago Canyon on Wednesday night in an Orange Conference match.
The FC women's volleyball team brought down the Bobcats of Saddleback College in five sets at home Wednesday night.
The FC volleyball squad swept through Santiago Canyon College at home Friday night 3-0: 25-11, 25-9, 25-10.
The Hornets welcomed Golden West College to Colleen Riley Court on Wednesday night and swept the Rustlers in three straight sets.
Fullerton hosted Riverside City College on Wednesday night and held off the Tigers 3-1.
On Friday, the Hornets took a trip up to Bakersfield College to play a 3-Way against Reedley and the Renegades.
Playing at Mt. San Antonio College Wednesday night, the Hornets took the first set 26-24, but then lost the next three 21-25, 21-25, and 22-25.
The Hornets spearheaded the 2022-23 FC sports season with a 3-1 victory over Chaffey College at home Friday night. Fullerton dropped the first set 22-25 but came back firing on all cylinders sweeping through the Panthers in the next three sets 25-21, 25-18, and 25-21.
