The FC women's volleyball squad picked up a decisive road win on Wednesday night sweeping LA Harbor College 3-0 (25-19, 25-23, 25-17) in non-conference action.
With the victory, the Hornets improved their record to 2-3 overall, while Harbor dropped to 1-5.
The Hornets came out strong in the opening set hitting .600 as a team behind efficient swings from Bri Stotmore, who finished with 10 kills. After a scrappy second set that saw both sides trade long rallies, the Hornets held on 25-23 before closing the door in the third set with a balanced attack.
Klaudia Bustillo led the Hornets offensively with a season-high 11 kills helping to provide the spark the team needed to maintain momentum. Setter Cecilia Arroyo kept the offense steady, dishing out 27 assists.
Defensively, Addison Ortega anchored the back row with 15 digs, while Bustillo and Stomore chipped in with 10 each. Voleahk Veakrakmann also chipped in with 9 digs of her own.
