FC WOMEN PLACE 4TH AT OEC CHAMPIONSHIPS
The FC women’s cross country team put together a strong performance at the Orange Empire Conference Championships last Friday at Saddleback College finishing fourth overall with 81 points.
The FC women's cross country team put together a strong performance at the Orange Empire Conference Championships last Friday at Saddleback College finishing fourth overall with 81 points.
Despite dealing with injuries throughout the season, the Hornets showed resilience and teamwork when it mattered most. Head Coach Gina Bevec praised the group's persistence and commitment to recovery.
"It all came together for the ladies as their patience and work with the athletic trainers paid off", claimed Bevec.
Leading the way for Fullerton was Brittany Rodriguez, who ran an impressive 19:14 to take 5th place overall earning First Team All-Orange Empire Conference honors. Rodriguez moved up two places in the conference overall as the group's improvement reflects their hard work and consistency through adversity.
Vanessa Castellanos followed with a solid 21:18 finish for 14th place grabbing Second Team All-OEC honors.
Rounding out the scoring for the Hornets were Ximena Gonzalez (21:57, 19th place), Marylyn Glumace (23:40, 23rd place), and Jaelyn Glumace (24:27, 25th place). The race featured 26 total runners, and Fullerton's depth helped secure its top four finish in the standings.
Up Next: The Hornets qualify and will compete in the 2025 SoCal Regional Championships on Friday, November 7th at NTC Park in San Diego. The race begins at 10 am as FC looks to qualify for the CCCAA State Championships.
