The No. 2 in state Hornets won three out of four games against four-year colleges over the weekend.
Playing at the FC Aquatic Center, the Hornets knocked off Whittier College 10-2 in game one Friday. Four FC players scored 2 goals each in Adrianna Wong Kate De La Mora, Amanda Ellerbroek, and Nikki Salerno.
In game two, Fullerton beat Concordia, Irvine 13-8. Salerno and De La Mora led the way for the Fullerton victory with 4 goals apiece.
On Saturday, Fullerton fell in a close one to Pomona 7-4. The game was tied at halftime 3-3, but Pomona powered past the Hornets scoring 2 unanswered goals in the third quarter. Fullerton scored one more goal in the fourth and could not catch up.
In game two on Saturday, FC brought down Cal Lutheran 14-5 to finish out the mini-tournament. Nikki Salerno and Adrianna Wong were the scoring leaders with 4 goals each.
FC goalkeeper Alex Airitam accumulated 49 total saves while allowing only 19 goals in the last four games.
