QUALIFIERS & PERSONAL BESTS AT THE OEC PRELIMS
The Hornet women’s track & field team delivered a strong showing at the Orange Empire Conference Prelims hosted by Riverside City College last Friday with many FC athletes advancing and turning in personal-best performances.
The Hornet women's track & field team delivered a strong showing at the Orange Empire Conference Prelims hosted by Riverside City College last Friday with many FC athletes advancing and turning in personal-best performances.
For the field events, the Hornets were led by Olivia Yturriaga, who placed sixth in the hammer with a throw of 117'6" earning a qualifying spot to the Southern California Prelims. Yturriaga also posted a personal record in the shot put at 33'11.5" with a seventh place finish.
Lana Arana added another PR in the shot put with a mark of 29'1", while Astrid Morales placed eighth in the long jump at 14'3.75".
On the track, Fullerton competed in preliminary heats with several athletes advancing to the OEC Finals. Jenna Krostag qualified in both the 200m and 400m, while Edie Pfefferkorn moved on in the 400m. Brittany Rodriguez also secured a finals berth in the 1500m.
Up Next: The Hornets will now turn their focus to the OEC Championships that will take place this Friday, April 24th back at Riverside City College with events beginning at 10:00 am.
