The Hornets competed under rainy conditions at the Soka University Indoor meet on Saturday with good results.
The events contested were for those four-year athletes to get a qualifying mark for the indoor season. While most community colleges do not have an indoor season in their schedule, Fullerton participated in many of the events to get some work in for the season.
Freshman Sydney DeVilla won the shot put with a PR (personal record) for the season with a 36' 6.75" toss.
"I have been working on my technique in practice and things are starting to click" said DeVilla.
Kim Estrada-Rodriguez ran in the with a mile time of 6:18.37. This was a huge improvement for Estrada-Rodriguez as she has not run the event since her high school days. Kim's 800m was a training workout for her to finish out her day's performances.
Continuing on with a good training workout day were Idaly Gonzalez and Nancy Martinez testing their speed in the 60m and 200m events.
Up Next: The OEC Invite at Riverside City College on Friday, February 28th.
