HORNET ITA SCHOLARS ANNOUNCED
The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced the 2025 JUCO Men and Women’s ITA Scholar-Athletes last week with four Hornets making the list.
The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced the 2025 JUCO Men and Women's ITA Scholar-Athletes last week with four Hornets making the list.
On the women's side, Josie Miranda, Alyssa Lopez, and Arleth Vega-Estevez were honored for their hard work.
For the men, Ubaldo Gomez was recognized for his dedication to the court and classroom.
Within the sport of tennis, student-athletes continue to exceed expectations in the classroom and on the court. In 2025, 94 JUCO women's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, and 17 women's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction. 61 JUCO men's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, and 11 men's tennis programs were awarded as well.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must be listed on the institutional eligibility form and have a grade point average of at least 3.5 for the current academic year.
