Sophomore standout Josie Miranda made it official last week signing with Hope International University.
A local out of Katella High, Miranda has been a very consistent and successful player while playing for Coach Yolanda Duron the past two seasons. Showing promise after her freshman season, Josie truly shined during her sophomore campaign qualifying for the 3C2A State Tournament in Ojai where she and her doubles partner Justine Koo made to Round 64. By the season's end, Miranda helped lead her team to No. 16 spot in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's final rankings. For her efforts this past season, she was voted as the Most Improved Sophomore by the ITA. At the end of the semester, the Fullerton College Athletic Department honored Josie with the Ed Carroll Leadership Award for her commitment to the court and classroom.
"I'm incredibly proud of the hard work and determination of Josie over the past two years. She has taken each challenge in stride. She was our team captain, worked, and played No. 1 singles, while keeping a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Josie was consistent with her efforts, because she believed she could get better each day! I'm so excited to watch her next journey at HIU", Hornet Head Coach Dr. Yolanda Duron.
Congratulations Josie!
Once a Hornet, Always A Hornet!
