WOMEN'S TENNIS: STATE CHAMPIONS ONCE AGAIN!

In a championship rematch from last year between the Fullerton College and Sierra College women, Fullerton once again had the upper hand, defeating Sierra 5-2 and earning their second State title in as many years.

It was a repeat of last season's state championship game between the women's teams of Fullerton College and Sierra College with the Hornets winning it all again, beating the North's #1 Wolverines 5-2 for their second straight state title.

Losing two out of three doubles matches, Fullerton went into singles-play down 1-2. Strong singles-play by Jasmine Catolico (winning at #4), Sarah Edwards (winning at #3), Allison Enomoto (winning at #6) and Sarah Anderson came through in the clutch for her team winning the fifth and deciding point at #1.

In the program's history, Fullerton now has 3 state titles (1986, 2013, 2014).

The Hornet duo of Sarah Anderson and Sarah Edwards won the state title in doubles-play on Sunday defeating the North's top seed of Stephanie Ramos/Jacqueline Ward 6-3, 3-6, 10-7 in a ten point tie breaker. This is Anderson's second time winning the title as she and Victoria Vo (now playing at Cal State L.A.) won it all last season. Anderson became the fifth women's player to win back-to-back titles in doubles state history
