BAGNOL TO THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS WITH STANDOUT OEC PERFORMANCE
Ready For A State Run!
Freshman standout Cayenne Mattea Bagnol (Sunny Hills High) delivered one of the top individual performances of the weekend at the Orange Empire Conference Championships leading the Hornets in the pool and earning a spot at the upcoming 3C2A State Championships.
Fullerton finished sixth overall in the team standings, however Bagnol's effort highlighted the meet as she posted four top-four finishes against some of the conference's best competition. She placed second in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:01.59, while also taking third in the 100 individual medley (1:05.24), third in the 200 butterfly (2:21.88), and third in the 50 freestyle (25.75).
Her performance not only paced the Hornets but secured her place for the state meet where she will compete in both the 100 butterfly and 200 butterfly.
Up Next: Bagnol will represent Fullerton at the 3C2A State Championships set for Saturday, May 2 at Orange Coast College.
