For the second consecutive season under head coach Dan Desmond, the FC women's basketball team has earned a berth in the 3C2A Southern California Regional Playoffs.
The Hornets secured the No. 22 seed after defeating four ranked opponents this season. Fullerton finished the regular season 13-15 overall and qualified for the postseason in back-to-back years, which is a feat not accomplished since FC Hall of Fame coach Debi Woelke led the program to six straight SoCal Regional appearances from 2006-12.
In just his third season at the helm, Desmond guided Fullerton to its first postseason appearance in a decade last year and capped it with an 80-47 victory over Citrus College- the program's first playoff win in 14 seasons.
Up Next: The No. 22 Hornets will travel up the "American Riviera" to face No. 9 Santa Barbara City College in the first round of the 3C2A Southern California Regionals on Wednesday, February 25th at 5:00 pm. The last meeting between the two teams was a hard-fought battle, with the Vaqueros edging Fullerton 68-61 at the Colleen Riley Holiday Crossover last December.
