Haily Roberts along with the FC men's team qualified for the State Championship race with a 15th place finish at the Southern California Regional Championships last Friday at Chaffey College.
Haily Roberts is the lone runner repping the women's team who qualified for the state race after a strong finish of 21:26 that placed her 45th out of 143 runners. Running within the top 50% of the field qualified her individually.
Out of 26 teams competing, the Hornet men's team finished in 15th place out of 26 teams (183 total runners) with 407 points. Zidane Ras was the top team finisher for Fullerton with a time of 21:55. Jonathan Mendoza kept pace right behind at 11 seconds for a 22:06 finish. Sebastian Conde crossed the finish line at 23:11, and Luis Guardado shadowed Conde at 23:28. Rounding out the rest were Alex Alvarenga (24:25), Lucas Allen (24:47), and Vincent San Paolo (28:18). It was a strong team grouping with Sebastian, Luis, and Alex all running within 1:14 of each other.
Up Next: FC has a bye this week but will running at the State Championships that will be held at Woodward Park in Fresno on Saturday, November 23rd. The women's race will start at 10:00 am and the men's race at 11:00 am.
