Fullerton finished in 11th place at the Golden West College Invitational this past Friday at Central Park in Huntington Beach.
The FC runners did well in the race getting an inside look of the Orange Empire Conference championship course that will be run in November. The course has some tough terrain with a grass start and has a finish with a hill in the middle of it around the lake. Golden West College hosted the large event that had 277 competitors vying for a top spot in the state rankings.
Jonathan Mendoza and Louis Guardado were only 2 seconds apart from one another competing up in the top half of the meet and creating a strong front for the Hornets. Zidane Ras ran across the line 12 seconds after them with fellow teammate Sebastian Conde only 33 behind Zidane. Lucas Allen finished up the fifth man about a minute later. The Hornet's team dynamic is to have each teammate push to run within a range of one another and over time all the gaps will slowly result in s smaller gap between 1-5 man.
