CHAVEZ LANDS ALL-AMERICAN HONORS
The American Volleyball Coaches Association Inaugural All-America Team Includes a Hornet!
The AVCA announced its inaugural Two-Year College Men's Volleyball All-America Team, and Fullerton College sophomore Samuel Chavez earned one of the prestigious selections.
An opposite hitter, Chavez anchored the Hornets offensively throughout the season. He appeared in 22 matches and recorded a team-high 294 kills (3.54 kills per set), ranking fourth in the state. Chavez also contributed 100 digs (1.20 per set) and 50 total blocks while hitting .224 on the year. His steady production on the right side gave Fullerton a reliable go-to weapon in key moments during Fullerton's postseason run. He helped lead the Hornets to the semi-finals of the 3C2A State Championship and was an All-Northern Division selection.
This marks the first season the AVCA has partnered with the NJCAA and 3C2A to recognize men's indoor volleyball student-athletes at the two-year college level. The 2026 All-America Team featured 12 players total with six from NJCAA programs and six from 3C2A programs.
