OPENING THE SEASON WITH A ROAD WIN

The FC men's volleyball team opened the 2024 season Friday night at LA Pierce College and roped in the Brahmas 3-2.

In the first set, Fullerton and LA Pierce took it to the limit with the Hornets winning it 27-25. The Brahmas came back to win the second set 25-23, but then FC swung back in the third taking a big lead to win it 25-20. LA Pierce forced a fifth and final set winning game four 25-21. Both teams matched up very well exchanging shots in the fifth, until Fullerton came out on top 15-13.

Alex Guastella had a game-high 15 kills, while Isaac Malaga followed with 9 of his own. Joseph Ungos chipped in with 7 kills and 7 digs. Kenji Abratique had 16 digs, and Evan Shank handed out 37 assists.

Up Next: The Hornets (1-0 overall) hit the road to take on San Diego Miramar on Wednesday, January 31st. Match time is at 6:00 pm.
