The FC men's soccer team continued their dominant late fall run Friday night blanking visiting Saddleback College 3-0 at home.
The Hornets continue to impress as they racked up their 8th shutout of the season. The team record for shutouts in a season is 12- a tie between the 2018 and 2022 FC squads.
It didn't take long for the Hornets to grab the momentum dropping in the first goal in just the 1st minute of play. Jarrod Rodriguez got it started scoring with an unassisted strike that stunned the Bobcat defense. The early goal gave Fullerton a surge of energy and control that carried throughout the match.
At the 32nd minute, Oscar Feria added to the lead with another unassisted goal. Fullerton went into the halftime break with a healthy 2-0 advantage.
Coming out of the break, the Hornets wasted no time sealing the win in the first minute. Antonio Villafana finished a well-placed ball from Brandon Acevedo extending the lead to 3-0 and putting the game out of reach.
Hornet goalkeeper Steven Martinez delivered another flawless performance with 5 saves to earn his 8th shutout. The Hornet defense frustrated Saddleback all night limiting the Bobcat shots.
