2026 Fullerton College Athletic Hall of Fame - Friday, April 17, 2026 - It’s time to celebrate Hornet excellence!
The Fullerton College Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is set for Friday, April 17, 2026, honoring some of the most accomplished individuals and teams in Fullerton College history.
Seven outstanding individuals, along with one undefeated state championship team, will be inducted during a special evening on the Fullerton College campus inside the Cruz Reynoso Building. Doors open at 5:00 pm.
"This is always one of the biggest nights for Fullerton College Athletics as we celebrate the very best of our storied sports history," said FC Athletic Director Scott Giles. "We've had tremendous turnouts in the past, with alumni and supporters traveling from all over the country. After such a long wait, we're confident this will be one of our most memorable Hall of Fame ceremonies yet."
The 2026 Hall of Fame Inductees
2005-06 FC Men's Basketball Team
The only men's basketball team in program history to complete an undefeated season (37-0) capturing the program's third state championship under head coach Dieter Horton.
Rich Leon (1964-65, Football)
One of the most prolific receivers in Hornet history, Leon still holds the single-season and career reception records, with 70 catches in 1965 and 129 over two seasons. His 23 touchdown receptions and 1,715 receiving yards remain school records helping lead FC to a Junior Rose Bowl Championship.
Luseane Makanesi (2010-11, Track & Field)
A dominant force in the throws, Makanesi won back-to-back state championships in the shot put. She still owns Fullerton College records in the shot put (47' 5.75") and discus (150' 7").
Gabriela Perez (2015-16, Women's Water Polo)
Widely regarded as the greatest scorer in program history, Perez set school and state records with 185 career goals redefining excellence in women's water polo at FC. She was an All-American and OEC Co-MVP.
D'Angelo Ross (2015-16, Football)
An All-Conference defensive back who helped lead the Hornets to the 2016 state and national championships. Ross went on to play at the University of New Mexico and has enjoyed a seven-season career in the NFL.
David Shaw (Special Recognition)
The longtime voice of Hornet Athletics, Shaw has been announcing basketball, softball, and baseball games since 1988 and continues to serve as the voice of Hornet baseball today.
Bob Terry (1990-92, Men's Basketball)
One of the most accurate free-throw shooters in FC history, Terry holds records for consecutive free throws made (36) and highest career free-throw percentage (90.0%). He ranks fourth all-time in scoring with 1,178 career points.
Lynette Velazquez (1995-97, Softball)
A cornerstone of Hornet softball, Velazquez led FC to a runner-up finish at the 1996 state championship and finished her career with a .394 batting average. She later earned a full scholarship to Oklahoma University where she played for legendary coach Patty Gasso.
