In their first Orange Empire Conference game of the season, the Hornets misfired as they fell to Santa Ana College 74-58 at home Wednesday night.
The game was a close one until Santa Ana began to pull away with a 37-30 lead by the end of the first half.
The second half was all the Santa Ana as they widened the margin by producing a 55-38 lead at the 10:54 mark.
The Dons shot 45.2% from the floor to the Hornet's 30.4%.
Carnell Gray led the Hornets with 19 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 steal. Joel Brokenbrough had 11 points, 4,boards, and 3 steals.
