Former Hornet football standout Bryant Meredith capped off the 2025 season by helping lead Montana State to its first FCS National Championship in 41 years, recording 9 tackles in the title game.
The Bobcats edged Illinois State 35–34 in overtime to secure the championship in front of 24,105 fans on Monday night, which is the largest crowd at an FCS title game since 1996 and the seventh-most attended FCS championship game of all time.
Montana State finished the season with a 14–2 overall record, including a perfect 8–0 mark in Big Sky Conference play. The Bobcats closed the year on a remarkable 14-game winning streak, bringing the national championship trophy back to Bozeman.
A sophomore, Meredith wrapped up the season with 46 total tackles, including 29 solo stops, along with an interception and a forced fumble.
During his time as a Hornet, Meredith appeared in 10 games on the 2024 squad tallying 31 tackles (23 solo) and adding a forced fumble.
